Education
I graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a minor in secondary education.
A few years ago, I earned a Masters in the Art of Teaching from
Marygrove College in Detroit.
Family
As many of you know, I am married to a math teacher here at Heritage.
We were married in July of 1999. In February 2005 we added a new addition to our family - a son named James. We
also have a dog named Scout and two cats named Frodo and Anakin.
Hobbies
In my spare time (what little of it there is) I enjoy reading (surprise,
surprise), watching movies, doing crafty projects, and traveling. I have traveled to 12 countries and many parts of
the United States.
Fun Facts
My food weaknesses are pizza, fried cheese sticks, Krispe Kreme
doughnuts, movie popcorn (especially the Saginaw 8!), Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
I am addicted to SOME reality tv (like "Survivor,"
"The Amazing Race," and "Project Runway"), and I love reruns of "90210" and "The Fresh Prince of Bel Air." I wish there
were more reruns of "The Wonder Years." I also love "House," "The Office," "My Name Is Earl," and "Lost."
England is my favourite (notice the spelling) foreign country.
I lived there for a semester in college; thereby causing an addiction to most things British (but not the food).
I have been there twice since I studied there.
My favorite classic author is Jane Austen. As you
can see from my classroom, I am obsessed with movie adaptations of her novels.
I am one of two prom advisors, and I am one of three LIFT advisors.
I am a music lover - I was in both choir and band in high school
and college and continue to enjoy both.
